Monochromatic Man Card

Masculine cards are hard for me but hey, guys have birthdays too! So I scoured Pinterest for a card I thought might be good for our friend Jim! He and his family had just been to the Oregon Coast for Spring Break so this card by Beth Ann Wilson from Beth Ann's Stamp Pad Creations seemed appropriate. It looks like Beth Ann is no longer making and posting cards but she deserves credit nonetheless! For this card I pulled out a retired color...Midnight Muse!

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

  • Cardstock: Midnight Muse and Whisper White
  • Stamp Sets: By the Tide and Happiest Birthday Wishes (retired)
  • Ink: Midnight Muse
  • Other: Midnight Muse Stitched Ribbon and Dimensionals (of course)
After yesterday's post I thought I should keep this one short and sweet! I hope you have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

Quick and Easy Butterfly Basics Card

The card today is the second one in a 3 Card Swap I just participated in. We were to send 3 cards all using the same stamp set. Of course I picked Butterfly Basics because, well, it's my favorite!!!

Card Front

I think this is the last time I use pink as a background to my photos:( This card was super quick and easy. In fact it was totally CASEd (copy and share everything) from Brandy Cox at Brandy's Cards. She did a video tutorial on this card called 10 in 20 where she makes 10 of these cards in 20 minutes! Well, I made 5 cards while she was making 10 but hey, I was totally happy with it!

Card Inside

Are you loving it?!!!

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies...

  • Whisper White card stock...that's it for the paper! Can you believe it!
  • Butterfly Basics Stamp Set
  • Ink: Old Olive, Island Indigo, Crushed Curry and Early Espresso
  • Big Shot with Butterfly Thinlits
  • Other: Glue Dots and Basic Rhinestones
WOW! That has to be the shortest list of ingredients for a card yet (for me that is)!

I hope you enjoyed this card today! Be sure to come back tomorrow for one more in this 3 Card Swap! It is truly amazing! LOVE IT!

Another Birthday Card

**Oops! I was trying to schedule this post for Thursday but hit the "publish" button too soon! Sooo, if you happen to read this post on Wednesday, just know that it was meant for Thursday!

Good Morning and Happy Thursday to you! I think I am going to town today to get my new prescription sunglasses...first pair EVER! I need to explain; by going to town I mean a 1 1/2 hour drive each way:( However, I amuse myself with an audio book and if someone else is driving, my knit/crochet project of the moment so the time passes quickly. When "in town" we go to Costco, have lunch in a restaurant (my favorite part), get a pedicure (every other month) and run miscellaneous errands. Today I am hoping to pick up the supplies to make my darling granddaughter a bunkbed for her American Girl dolls.

My card today is one I made for an 11 year old boy and was so happy to know he loved it:) That's always a big plus! Most of the time I don't hear whether a recipient liked the card or not. Needless to say, those who respond in the affirmative, get LOTS of cards from me:)

I cut the circles out with my Circles Framelits Collection then adhered them to the Whisper White cardstock. Then I ran the Whisper White cardstock with the circles on it through the Big Shot using the Argyle Embossing Folder. I love how using the embossing folder actually makes the circles almost melt into the Whisper White cardstock. Very cool!

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

  • Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and Lost Lagoon cardstock
  • Stamps: Endless Wishes and Itty Bitty Banners
  • Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red, Memento Tuxedo Black and Blendabilities (for coloring the cake)
  • Big Shot with Circles Collection Framelits and Argyle Embossing Folder
  • Other: Dimensionals

I hope you enjoyed the card today and that you will feel inspired to do a little "creating" yourself! Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Peekaboo Window Birthday Card

It is definitely fall...rain, temperatures and even a short-term stomach "flu":( I had so much planned for yesterday and ended up half the day in bed. Not on the schedule I can assure you!

Instead of baked potatoes, butternut squash and salad, we had Potato Corn Chowder because that's what I crave when I'm sick. Late in the afternoon it really hit the spot:)

The card today is another version of the one I posted last week here. After I made the Fall version of the Peekaboo Window Card I decided to try a birthday one that I could send to my sister-in-law for her 60th birthday. I was so happy with the way this one turned out. Elegant but fun, don't you think?

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

  • Paper: Basic Black and Whisper White cardstock; Back to Black Designer Series Paper
  • Endless Wishes Photopolymer stamp set
  • Ink: Tuxedo Black Memento stamp pad; Blendabilities (to color cake)
  • Punches: 1 3/4" Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle, Decorative Label
  • Other: Dimensionals, Sticky Strip

The fun surprise is when you open the card and see the birthday cake revealed in the window!

Tomorrow I have another birthday card to show you. Thanks for stopping by!

Sweetie Pie Birthday

I have been trying to get some things done around the house so today decided to tackle the shower. I mixed 1 teaspoon Dawn dish soap, 1 drop Jet Dry and water in a Dishwand then cleaned the shower walls and glass doors! I also cleaned up the shower organizer (it was really bad) so the shower looks so much better. Then I cleaned out the magazine rack beside my bed--lots to throw away! I feel so much better when I am getting things cleaned and organized!

The card for today is the one I made for my granddaughter for her 9th birthday last month! I combined two of my favorite stamp sets for this card...Sweetie Pie (sold out but I put a request in for Stampin' Up! to bring it back) and Flower Shop! This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest by Kathleen Wingerson at Kathleen Stamps

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies...

  • Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Coastal Cabana, and Whisper White cardstock; Lullaby Designer Series Paper
  • Ink: Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Gray and Hello Honey
  • Stamps: Sweetie Pie (sold out), Flower Shop and Endless Wishes (sentiment)
  • Punches: Pansy, Petite Petals and Itty Bitty Punch Pack (retired)
  • Other: Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Stretch Ruffled Ribbon (retired), Basic Pearls
I hope you are having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

You might remember the Spinner Card I showed on April 9! I enjoyed it so much I had my Happy Stampers make one last week! The inspiration for this card came from Dawn Olchefske at DO Stamping with Dawn

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

  • Card stock: Strawberry Slush (new InColor), Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White and Lucky Limeade (retiring)
  • Sentiment from retired Birthday stamp set
  • Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Paper
  • Punches: Large Tag, Small Tag, Word Window

I am thinking this will be my granddaughter's birthday card next month!

Reason to Smile

I know this is really silly but one reason I have to smile is my new blog header! I just love it!!! Every time I look at it I smile:)))

However, the reason for the title of today's post is The Reason to Smile stamp set. It is a promotional item from Stampin' Up! for the month of July! When you order $50 in Stampin' Up! merchandise you can purchase the Reason to Smile stamp set for just $5!!! It is a 2-step set with 7 images.  The one I used on this card is only one of them. Now, that's a reason to smile!!! So, if you want this stamp set be sure to email me with your order:)

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! products:

  • Card stock: Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals and Whisper White
  • Stamp sets: Sassy Salutations and Reason to Smile
  • Raspberry Ripple Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Daffodil Delight 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
  • Dimensionals
This second card is oh so similar but I guess it would qualify as a Step-up card. I used the same supplies as above...almost!
  • I replaced the Daffodil Delight ribbon with 5/8" Whisper White Taffeta ribbon
  • Embossed the bottom of the Whisper White card stock with the Adorning Accents Textured Embossing Folder
  • Handcut one of the flowers that I then popped up on dimensionals and added an In Color Dahlia for the center!
The inspiration for this card came from my upline Linda Gutierrez and you can see her card at Stamping Year-Round. I pretty much CASed hers but I didn't have the ribbon or embossing folder she used so made due with what I had!

There you have it! Two birthday cards ready to put in the mail tomorrow!!!

Have a wonderful day and remember to say thank you to someone today:) Kat

Birthday Cards

Yesterday was my birthday and I received a handmade card from my granddaughter! If I'm not mistaken she used her new Wisteria Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad and Pixie Pink Classic Stampin' Pad (retired)! She is 7 and I think she did an amazing job stamping. There was a handwritten note inside wishing me a happy birthday with a request for me to call her to tell her how old I am. So yesterday morning I called her and told her I was 58 years old. She said, "Gramma, that's old!" I said, "I know but aren't you glad I don't have wrinkles yet?" She said, "Oh yes!" Sooo funny!!! I love these precious conversations!!!
The second card I want to show off was made by my daughter! She has come so far in her card making and I am so proud of her. I love it when she takes the time to make cards for me:)

The next picture is not of a card but it is of the beautiful flowers my husband got me for my birthday.

I love the yellow, orange and fuchsia! Such a bright spot in my dining room right now.

Today will be a busy day getting ready for our Happy Stampers club meeting which is on Wednesday--nothing like procrastination!!! I hope your Monday is filled with only good things. Kat
