Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Button via Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom

Good Morning! And welcome to Happy Homemaker Monday! Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom initiates the Happy Homemaker Monday each week so be sure to check our her post for today to see what she's up to.

So, for today...

Weather...Cold and Windy!!! At 10:00 am it is 40 degrees but with the wind, feels MUCH colder. We had lovely weather the beginning of the month but it appears that March truly will go out like a lion!

Right now I am...Sitting with my feet up near the woodstove, laptop on my lap, writing this blog post.

Thinking...About how I really need to get the taxes ready to send off to the accountant TODAY! No more procrastinating!!!

On my reading pile...

  • Bible
  • Mac Life Magazine
  • Ride the River by Louis L'Amour and The Christmas Pony by Melody Carlson as read alouds
On the tv...
  • Call the Midwife on Netflix. I recorded them but then saw they were on Netflix so watching Season 1 in preparation for Season 2 starting the 31st of this month on PBS.
  • I think I will watch a couple Hallmark Hall of Fame movies on SpiritClips today while working on taxes.
  • Cash Cab and The Chew while walking on the treadmill
Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other)...

Something fun to share...
If you enjoy English Bulldogs (and we do) then you will LOVE the website Baggy Bulldogs! Lots of pictures and videos! Super cute!

On the menu for the week...
In looking at last week's menu it seems we only ate a couple of the meals I had planned so this week looks like this...

Monday--Mushroom Barley Soup
Tuesday--
Tacos
Wednesday--Stamping Club day so I will eat out
Thursday--
Baked Potatoes and Butternut Squash
Friday--Potato Corn Chowder
Saturday--Potluck so will take Tex-Mex Coleslaw and Corn Bread (I ended up taking something else last week so will try this again this week:)
Sunday--I think the guys will be off skiing so I will just eat leftovers--they didn't go last week because of lots of wind but maybe can make it this week.

On my "to do" list...
  • Laundry--3 loads today
  • Taxes
  • Get ready for Happy Stampers Club (Wednesday)
  • March Swap Card--make and send
  • My Digital Studio class assignment
  • The Cupboard Trilogy Challenges Design Team Project--make and upload
  • Walk on the treadmill
What I am sewing, knitting, crocheting or crafting...
I couldn't believe it when I read Sandra's answer to this question because I have been struggling. I am trying to make a doily that just might be beyond my skill level. I am half finished with a sock that has been sitting for so long I may just have to tear it out and start over. Maybe I'm just not in the crafting mood:( I will be making lots of cards this week and I am still really wanting to get some sewing done--long list of projects I want to make but no energy to get started. I hope I have a better answer to this question next week!

Homemaking Tips...
I really, really, really like Coconut Oil and all the things you can do with it AND all the health benefits as well. There are lots of websites telling about the uses and health benefits of coconut oil. Today I would like to share with you a tip I saw on Pinterest about using equal parts coconut oil and baking soda to make a sticky adhesive remover (like Goo Gone). You can read about it at Rosy Blu Handmade! I always have coconut oil and baking soda on hand but rarely have Goo Gone!

Looking around the house...Dogs! Dogs! Everywhere!!! We have a Great Dane who takes up half the living room floor when he's stretched out in front of the wood stove; an English Bulldog who delights in emptying the doggy toy box and our very old Miniature Dachshund who is pretty good most of the time and takes up very little room but barks at EVERYTHING!!! I need to sweep the kitchen floor (dog hair) and make the bed but other than that, all is well:)

From the camera...

Broccoli wintered over and is HUGE! Hubby brought in a couple of heads yesterday that were almost 12" across! And it is super delicious!!!

On my prayer list...
  • Cindy--yes, Cindy it's you:)
  • My sister--she is in lots of pain but can't have surgery for another month or two.
  • My brother's vacation--a mix-up on the vacation schedule might mean he would have to cancel a vacation he's been planning for months; could mean a loss of money in cancellation fees. We should know this week if he will get the two weeks he needs for this vacation.
  • Strength and energy for me to do the things I need to do.
Bible verse; Devotional...

Today I want to share with you something I do that is a real benefit to me and those I pray for. There are many "nights" when I wake up at 2:00 or 3:00 in the morning and can't go back to sleep. I could get up but my bed is so warm and my hubby is so snuggly so I lay in bed and pray the alphabet. I usually start at A but sometimes start at Z because I want to make sure the people at that end of the alphabet are prayed for too:) A side blessing is that oftentimes I pray for maybe 10 people and then fall asleep. This has really helped me to not get anxious because I can't sleep but to praise God because I woke up to pray for these people.

Well, dear readers, I am off to see if I can get those taxes ready to go in the mail to our accountant tomorrow...Wednesday at the latest! I hope you have a wonderful day wherever you are!

Sunday Night Chit-Chat

Ah! Spring is almost here:) Hyacinths getting ready to bloom!
Welcome to the Sunday Night Chit-Chat! If you would like to join in, check in with Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily to check out the "rules"! Each Sunday Carla starts us off so here goes!

I am...

Reading...Mac Life magazine is about all at this time. For our read alouds we are reading Ride the River by Louis L'Amour (book 5 in the Sackett series) and The Christmas Pony by Melody Carlson.

Watching...Last night we watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close--WOW! Great movie! This week I will be watching season one of Call of the Midwife in preparation for the start of season two starting March 31 on PBS.

Listening to...The wind howling outside! It has been a very windy day today:(

Cooking/baking...I made Mushroom Barley Soup for dinner today plus baked bread.

Happy I accomplished this week...Haven't really accomplished anything special for weeks. I am just happy when I keep up with the laundry and housework. I look forward to being able to do some "extras" soon. I know the energy is coming back, it's just slow.

Looking forward to next week...I believe my new Knitting Bag is at the post office waiting to be picked up:) I should get it tomorrow or Tuesday! Whoo Hoo!

Thankful for today...Spring is on the way! I see signs of it everywhere!

*BONUS QUESTION* Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? We don't really do anything special. The town of Heppner which is about 45 minutes to the east of us is hugely into St. Patrick's Day; the community is largely Irish.

Well, that's it for my Sunday Night Chit-Chat! I hope you have a wonderful evening!

Happy Homemaker Monday

My son was commenting this morning on how fast this month is going by! It sure does seem like it! And this month will seem a whole lot longer until my body acclimates to the time change! Sandra, our host for Happy Homemaker Monday, lives in Arizona where the time NEVER changes:) Ah, I remember the brief time I lived in Arizona! I hear that time doesn't change in Hawaii either--any other state?

The Weather...In the mid 50s today with cloudy skies and some wind. Overall, not too bad.

Right now I am...Cooking our midday meal, drinking a cup of Yerba Mate and writing this blog.

Thinking...I wish I had the energy to do all the things I need and want to do. Energy level has been down for too long now.

On my reading pile...Like Sandra, I am taking a little break from reading. We have moved on to Ride the River in our Sackett series by Louis L'Amour. We have been reading these aloud in the evenings.

On my tv...Nothing going on there either. Not much that interests me on tv right now.

Favorite Blog post this week (mine or other)...

Three's a Crowd by Crystal Escobar at Wannabe Balanced Mom. I remember Crystal blogging when she had one child, then two and now she has three plus is homeschooling! She has no problem giving a realistic picture of her life as a Wannabe:)

Something fun to share...

Photo by Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily
This is my new custom made Knitting Bag made by Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily! It appears she has been getting a lot of tote bag orders lately and you should stop over to see the different ones. Each one is different! For mine I asked for purples with lime green. I also wanted a notions bag attached with a key fob to the handle plus and extra long zippy wallet to hold knitting needles! I used Carla's photo because my new Knitting Bag is "in the mail". It seems like mail travels Pony Express from Ontario, Canada to Oregon! I expect it to arrive later this week! Now that's what I call FUN!!!

On the menu for this week...I gave you my menu last week and then I don't think we ate a single thing I put on it:( So I will likely have some of the same things on this week's menu!

Monday--Mizidra
Tuesday--Mushroom Barley Soup
Wednesday--Tacos
Thursday--Baked Potatoes and Butternut Squash
Friday--
Saturday--Potluck so will take Tex-Mex Coleslaw and Corn Bread
Sunday--I think the guys will be off skiing so I will just eat leftovers

On my to do list...

  • Laundry
  • Plan projects for the March Happy Stampers Club
  • Make and send Swap Card
  • Make Easter cards for granddaughter and friend's kids
  • Finish tax prep and get in the mail to tax accountant
What I am sewing, knitting, crocheting or crafting...
Haven't been working on anything lately. I took my doily out yesterday and worked on it a bit and then had to rip that part out:( So, I guess the cards will be it for this week.

Homemaking Tips...Don't have one for this week.

From the camera...

Magnum and Graycee

Check out Mag's leg over Graycee! They really do love each other!

On my prayer list...

  • Friends trying to sell their restaurant so they can spend more time with their girls.
  • My health issues
  • Friend's grown daughter in need of a job.
  • Other friend's two grown children in need of jobs.
Bible verse; Devotional...
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
"Take therefore no though for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:33, 34

Well, that's it for me today! Have a great day!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Participating in the Happy Homemaker Monday really helps to make Monday that much better! Thanks, Sandra, for starting us off each week on a positive note. You will find Sandra's blog at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom.

The weather...It was only 30 degrees (F) when I woke up this morning at 5:00 but now at 10:00 it has warmed up to 40 degrees (F). It is windy but looks like I might have blue skies by noon.

Right now I am...Sitting in front of the wood stove with a cup of Yerba Mate. I just finished my Stampin' Up! order and am ready to settle down to do Happy Homemaker Monday.

Thinking...About what I need to do today.

On my reading pile:

  • Spiritual: Bible and Desire of Ages
  • Personal: Just magazines and catalogs for now--Weight Watchers, Better Homes and Gardens, Paper Crafts, Crochet World, Mary Maxim catalog
  • Read Alouds: Santa Cruise by Mary Higgins Clark and Jubal Sackett by Louis L'Amour--nearly finished with both of these
On my tv...Not sure this week but I want to do some crocheting so will likely find some movies on SpiritClips. I still have several episodes of McLeod's Daughter's to watch.

Favorite Blog post...
My Favorite Sin by Melane (aka Smalls)

Something fun to share:

A friend of ours is gluten intolerant and I have been told I would do well to eat more gluten free foods so was excited to find the above cookbook at Amazon! It is on my wish list! Finding gluten free cookbooks is easy these days and I have even seen some gluten free vegetarian but this was the first gluten free VEGAN I had seen.

On the menu for this week...

Monday--Pasta sauted with olive oil mushrooms, spinach, kale and garlic
Tuesday--Artichokes with big green salad
Wednesday--Tacos with Quinoa Taco Burger
Friday--
Saturday--
Sunday--Mizidra

On my "to do" list...
  • Laundry (is it ever done???)
  • Make Thank You cards (again)
  • Make Easter cards
  • Get tax stuff ready for accountant
  • Clean the bathroom
  • Wash out the refrigerator (least favorite household chore)
What I am sewing, knitting, crocheting or crafting...
  • Still haven't picked up the doily I'm making since being sick. I really need to do that THIS week!
  • Still have unfinished pair of socks to work on--I may have to start over at this point.
Homemaking Tip...My husband's Aunt Lee shared with me several years ago that to keep black clothes black, NEVER put them in the dryer! I have a bar above my dryer with hangers plus a very nice wooden clothes rack that I hang ALL our black and navy blue clothes on to dry. I also don't hang them on the line outside because the sun will fade them. Works like a charm:)

Looking around the house...Dishes need done; laundry needs started; bed needs made:( Our three dogs are sprawled out across the living room floor sleeping in the warmth of the wood stove.

From the camera...

On my prayer list...
  • Friends who want to adopt a child
  • Friends with health issues
  • Sister's extreme pain
  • Church family
Bible verse; Devotional...
"He (God) knows the journey is difficult. He knows life is rarely fair. Jesus fought the same frigid winds of distraction, discouragement, and doubt that keep us from knowing God's love. But like the Father, he longs to gather us in his arms. He longs to trade the flimsy blankets of our own self-sufficiency for his all-sufficiency. The Lord Jesus invites us to cast our doubts, our fears and anxiety upon him, to discover how much he really does care."
--from Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World by Joanna Weaver

Well, that's it for my Happy Homemaker Monday. I will be back a little later with the supplies for that cute Bunny card I showed yesterday.

Sunday Night Chit-Chat

Happy Stampers Club project from last week (more on that later)
It's time for the Sunday Night Chit-Chat:) We are started off each week by the very talented and super busy Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily! Check out the beautiful purple mug rug and coffee cozy she made for a custom order! Oh so pretty!!! If you want to play along, check out Carla's blog post to find out the "rules" then be sure to put a link for your post in my comment section as well as Carla's! You can also play along in the comment section if you wish! So, let's get started!

I am...

Reading...I know you won't believe this but I finally finished all three books in the Happiness Key series by Emilie Richards!!! The first one was hard for me to get through (probably me, not the book) but the last two were really quick reads! Not sure what to read next. For our read aloud we are almost finished with Jubal Sackett by Louis L'Amour (only 12 more books to go in this series)

Watching...We watched Larry Crowne with Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts! It was great! Hard to have a bad movie with both of them in it!

Listening to...I feel like a broken record because every Sunday night I am listening to our English Bulldog, Rocky, snore but that is the only sound going on in the house right now!

Baking/Cooking...We have a friend who is gluten intolerant so yesterday I made him Black Bean Brownies and GF Cornbread. The Black Bean Brownies were good but I want to make a few changes (will keep you posted). I will share the Cornbread recipe later this week.

Happy I accomplished this week...

  • Finished and posted March Design Team project for The Cupboard Trilogy Challenges
  • Finished and delivered February swap card
  • Got ready for and completed our monthly Happy Stampers Club (three projects)
Looking forward to next week...Not having to go anywhere:) I have plenty to keep me busy here at home.

Thankful for today...Hubby and I are both well! Plus he is going on a business appointment tomorrow that we thought he lost out on when he was sick. Rarely is my husband so sick he can't work but this time he was really down!

BONUS QUESTION: Have I ever left the house in my pjs? I know I did when my 40 year old son was in school and I had to take him to the bus early, early in the morning. We live waayyy out in the country without another house in sight and I do go outside in my pjs frequently. But I don't wear them where anyone could see. My granddaughter has pajama day at school once a year and I have threatened that if I was there when she was having pajama day I would take her to school in MY pajamas:)

Well, that's it for me tonight! I do think this is the latest I have ever done the Chit-Chat (almost 9:30 pm--past my bedtime) so it will be off to bed for me! Have a great night and I will be back tomorrow with the list of supplies I used to make the card above!

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday button courtesy of Sandra at
Diary of a Stay at Home Mom
It's time for Happy Homemaker Monday! Sandra starts us off each week at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. Be sure to hop on over to find out what Sandra's been up to.

The weather...48 degrees (F) and partly cloudy. Looks to be another really nice day in February:)

Right now I am...Sitting in my rocking recliner, drinking Yerba Mate tea with a touch of raw Canadian honey, finishing up this post.

Thinking...how I have a couple of really cluttered areas that need to be dealt with. I think I will make that my February project!

On my reading pile...Just started Jubal Sackett by Louis L'Amour as our read aloud book; started reading Happiness Key again and hoping to make it through this time!

On my TV...Downton Abbey! I like this show enough to get it on DVD!!!

Favorite blog post this week (mine or other)...Pay it Forward by Elizabeth Farrar at Bella Vita.

Something fun to share...I rarely pay more than $2.99 for an iPad app but this week I took the plunge and bought the Home Routines App for $4.99. I have only had it a couple of days but LOVE it! It is like a daily, weekly, monthly "to do" list that resets at intervals YOU set. Whoo Hoo! It even goes along with the cleaning zone that the Fly Lady program has. Check it out!

On the menu this week...I don't have anything planned for this week yet.

On my to do list...I didn't get much done last week so have to use the same list AGAIN:( It's starting to get embarrassing!

  • Thank you cards--make and send--Hmmm...starting to think I should just BUY the cards and get them mailed!
  • Laundry--stayed up on the laundry all week
  • The Cupboard Trilogy DT project--finished and submitted
  • Get February Card Swap organized and emails sent--Tada! Got this one done too:)
  • Walk on the treadmill 3 x this week
  • Clean out the refrigerator
  • Send one handwritten note via snail mail:) I am going to try to send one per week--missed last week so will try to send two this week.
  • Finish editing short story for friend and get it sent off to her. Almost finished with this; plan to get it in the mail today or tomorrow.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or crafting...Still have the same projects:( Haven't been working on them lately but want to pick them up and finish them! I am the Queen of Unfinished Projects!

Homemaking tips...This isn't really a homemaking tip; more of a personal care tip but gotta share it anyway. I read on Pinterest about using a mixture of baking soda and coconut oil to wash your face twice a week and the other days just use coconut oil to wash your face. Your face will feel a little oily for about 15 minutes but then will just be soft and smooth! If you do this before you get in the shower, your face will be ready for makeup when you get out. It only takes about 1/2 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 tsp of coconut oil. Super inexpensive and effective!!! I am loving this!

I should save this one for next week but I was sooo excited about it!!! Did you know that you can put vinegar (full strength) in a spray bottle to kill weeds? My son is going to put it in his 4-wheeler sprayer to spray the driveway!!! It will also kill your plants so be careful but it won't destroy your soil; in fact, it's good for the soil.

Looking around the house...Looks pretty good:) The dogs haven't taken many toys out yet this morning! I am working on doing 15 minutes of pickup before I go to bed and it sure makes a difference. I did this regularly when the kids were little but got sloppy in my old age:(

From the camera...

My very huge Christmas cactus is in bloom. This one is called
"white" but it's actually a very pale pink. These blossoms are so pretty!
On my prayer list...Jenny's grandmother, Michelle's cousin and Kelly

Bible verse; Devotional...
"For I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well-fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:11-13 (HCSB)
This verse was part of the devotional this morning from Proverbs 31 Ministries called The Joneses are Overrated. This devotional address so well the topic of Sandra's post from last week, Chasing Simplicity.

Have a great day!

Sunday Night Chit-Chat

Our sweet Magnum! You could do anything with this cat; he is sooo mellow!
It's time for the Sunday Night Chit-Chat! We are hosted each week by the very talented and oh so busy Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily. Be sure to hop on over and see what she's been up to. So, let's get started!

I am...

Reading...For our read aloud we have moved on to Jubal Sackett by Louis L'Amour (#4 in the Sackett series). I have started reading Happiness Key...again! We'll see if I can finish it this time.

Watching...Downton Abbey tonight:) The Donna Reed Show (hadn't seen this show in YEARS).

Listening to...The TV and Rocky (our English Bulldog) snoring!

Baking/Cooking...I was home alone today so didn't do any cooking or baking!

Happy I accomplished this week...I kept up with housework and laundry but didn't accomplish much else this week.

Looking forward to next week...Being more productive!

Thankful for today...A fun skiing day for my hubby and son and an alone day for me:) It was a beautiful day on the slopes today and it wasn't too cold!

*BONUS QUESTION* What made me laugh today? Hmmm...I don't remember laughing today. That's unusual but I was home alone all day and the dogs didn't even do anything funny!

Well, that's it for me for tonight!

Sunday Night Chit-Chat

I do so love it when the UPS man brings my Stampin' Up! orders!

Oh my! It's time for the Sunday Night Chit-Chat again already!!! This past week just flew by! I didn't accomplish anything on my "to do" list but caught up on some housework that didn't get done the week before when I was sick.

The Sunday Night Chit-Chat is initiated each week by Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily. Be sure to hop on over to see what Carla's been up to. Let's get started!

I am...

Reading...Angels at the Table by Debbie Macomber; read aloud is The Warrior's Path by Louis L'Amour (#3 in the Sackett series)

Watching...I will be watching Downton Abbey and we will be recording the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, The Makeover, with Julia Stiles.

Listening to...Hubby's internet radio.

Baking/Cooking...Just potatoes and butternut squash tonight but Friday I baked 2 loaves of Double Dill Rye bread and Chocolate Poorman's Cake--yumm!

Happy I accomplished this week...

  • I managed to get the house cleaned:)
  • Stamping order sent in, received AND delivered!
  • Swap card made and sent!
Looking forward to next week...Getting the rest of my January goals accomplished! I have 4 days and 5 goals left to finish!

Thankful for today...I have been well for a whole week and have had about two and a half weeks without itching:) What a blessing that is!!!

*Bonus Question*...What chore around the house do I dread doing most? That would have to be vacuuming mainly because it hurts my lower back. With the dogs I really should vacuum twice a week but I only manage to get it done once.

What household chore do YOU dread the most?

Have a nice evening!

Sunday Night Chit-Chat`

Welcome to the Sunday Night Chit-Chat initiated each Sunday by Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily. I found the picture/quote for today on Pinterest and I really needed it. I am overwhelmed! Not because I have too much to do but because I don't feel well enough to do much of anything--just the bare bone basics! We hit on another idea of what might be causing my terrible rash/hives thing...he laundry detergent. I have changed laundry detergent 3 times but it has always been he. It appears he laundry detergent has a chemical in it to minimize the suds. I just happened to have a small container of laundry detergent we bought from Tropical Traditions that is more natural. Sooo, today was spent washing "clean" clothes! First I washed the machine by putting 2 quarts of white vinegar into the washer and running it with no clothes. Then I washed sheets, towels, underwear, outwear--everything! What a day! Hoping it helps! We ordered some Charlie's Soap after a lot of reading on the internet--lots of great reviews!

So let's get started with the Sunday Night Chit-Chat!

I am...

Reading...I finished Daughter of Joy by Kathleen Morgan but won't let myself order the next book until I finish some of my other reading. I am currently reading Homespun Bride by Jillian Hart. As a family we are reading To the Far Blue Mountains by Louis L'Amour and Christmas in My Heart #21, compiled and edited by Joe Wheeler. Haven't had much read aloud time for the last week because the family has been pretty busy and scattered.

Watching...Nothing tonight but I plan to watch Christmas movies on Netflix tomorrow while I am sewing:)

Listening to...The dogs...Rocky is snoring and Beau is chewing on a Nylabone!

Cooking/Baking...I made Garbanzo Oat Waffles for breakfast (gluten free); we made a 15L crock of sauerkraut early afternoon; I am currently baking sweet potatoes for dinner.

Happy I accomplished this week...I got out of bed each and every day! LOL Seriously, I don't have energy to do much of anything but that should start getting better. I need to supplement with copper so my body can metabolize iron and I am taking B12 injections 2x/week. That should really help to get me up and moving. Getting all those clothes rewashed was a big accomplishment today.

Looking forward to next week...Feeling better! Also hoping my Secret Sister Swap will arrive this week.

Thankful for today...Sauerkraut is made and most of the rewashing of the laundry is done!

*BONUS QUESTION*

You (I) receive a clothing gift from someone who is very close to you and has very sensitive feelings, but you absolutely HATE it. Yet you KNOW that they're going to expect you to wear the item and "can't wait to see you in it!!!" What do you do?

I would wear the item one time when that person was going to be present. I have had this happen to me and it is very awkward. My mom used to make lots of clothing gifts for us--knitted, crocheted and sewn. Most of them were wonderful but occasionally she really missed the mark. She has VERY sensitive feelings and if she thought we didn't like something would NEVER make us anything again. Couldn't risk THAT happening!

Well, I hope you enjoyed the little foray into my life via the Sunday Night Chit-Chat! I love having you visit and hope you'll come back again tomorrow.

Sunday Night Chit-Chat

Welcome to the Sunday Night Chit-Chat initiated each week by Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily. My picture tonight is of our 30L Harsch fermenting crock that we having been filling with shredded cabbage today to make sauerkraut (more on that subject tomorrow)! We made sauerkraut in our 15L Harsch fermenting crock a few months ago and have about 3 quarts left and that won't last any time at all.

Well, let's get started!

I am...

Reading...Christmas in my Heart #21 (compiled and edited by Joe Wheeler), To the Far Blue Mountains by Louis L'Amour (our read aloud) and finishing up Bah Humbug by Heather Horrocks.

Watching...Nothing today. I am in the reading mood right now.

Listening to...Rocky snoring and hubby tamping down the cabbage in the crock for the sauerkraut.

Cooking/baking...Bread, baking potatoes and sweet potatoes for dinner along with some cooked cabbage.

Happy I accomplished this week...I got through Thanksgiving without getting sick and we have the 30L crock nearly full of cabbage soon to be sauerkraut!

Looking forward to next week...SEWING!!! Finally, I will take my machine out, set it up and get busy!

Thankful for today...My hubby who has been oh so helpful--with getting ready for Thanksgiving, clean up afterward and the whole sauerkraut thing.

*BONUS QUESTION*

What is the #1 item on your Christmas wishlist?!
I got the item that was on my wishlist--iPad 3 as an early Christmas gift. I really can't think of anything else at the moment.

Well, that's it for this week! Be sure to check out Carla's Chit-Chat and I will be back tomorrow with some more pictures of our sauerkraut adventure.
