D is for Daiso and Disney

This week I am visiting my darling daughter and super darling granddaughter! My granddaughter is on spring break this week so we wanted to do something fun for her. We were thinking along the lines of the zoo or aquarium or the bouncy houses or ??? Well, my seven year old granddaughter wanted to go the the mall! The MALL!!! I thought that was a teenager "thing"! Well, she loaded up her purse with $13 one dollar bills and some change and away we went!

One of our favorite stores is Daiso--a store filled with items from Japan! Items range from $1.50 to $3 and you find items there you won't find anywhere else! I bought some stitch markers for my knitting and a roll of tape for paper crafting. My granddaughter got two dog figurines for her dog collection:) The most fun is just looking at all the items available!

A trip to the mall would not be complete without a look-see at The Disney Store...

Please forgive the picture. I was having my daughter snap the pictures with her phone because I left my camera behind. I had it in my hot little hand but laid it down on the island and left without it:( My granddaughter bought a cute little stuffed bear from the movie Brave at the Disney store.

We visited several other stores, spent all her money, and came home very tired! I think she had a good time and I know I did!

I am so impressed with the other A to Z blog participants who have a theme for the whole month! As I said in a previous post, I am just flying by the seat of my pants! Some of the participants even had their posts written ahead of time. Also not me! But I sure admire the forethought and organization. It has been fun visiting the other bloggers to see what they are blogging about!

Have a great day and be sure to come back tomorrow to see what I come up with for the letter E!

  1. I find it easier and a tad bit reassuring that my posts are on schedule. But "writing" everyday. Now that is something. Great post! Hope u had a wonderful time!

    1. Maybe next year I will be organized enough to have my A to Z posts ready ahead of time but this year it's a day by day thing! As inspiration hits!

  2. The mall and the Disney store -- a great combo for all parents and grandparents. I used to take my nieces, then my son and spend hours there. Amazing how many fun things young ones can find in a mall, and before I had kids there I was, thinking it was all just for ... shopping. :)
    Fun D post!

    1. We had a great time but I am not much of a shopper so it was tiring. However, the fun part was seeing everything through my granddaughter's eyes! Plus we were trying to teach her a little about money so she had one dollar bills to spend and we didn't give her any extra even though it was tempting!

  3. I'm just flying by the seat of my pants for this challenge as well. Thanks for mentioning it, by the way. I saw that mention just in time to go and sign up. I normally prefer to take a while to think about things like this a bit first and see if I'll really be able to do it but it seemed like something that would be interesting to do as well as a good way to get back to really blogging regularly. Between the A to Z challenge and the Sunday Night Chit-Chats, I should be blogging every day in April. I'm not sure I have ever blogged a full month before and if I have, it hasn't been for a very, very long time. Part of the fun for me though, is coming up with a word every day. Preparing it all in advance just seems a bit too much like work to me. LOL

Although I have to admit that as I'm getting into the swing of things I do find myself thinking of things that I definitely want to write about for certain letters. However, I'm still waiting until those letters' days to actually write anything down - maybe on the day itself I'll feel like writing about something completely different. That's just all part of the fun for me!

  4. Hi! I am visiting from the A-Z challenge!

I love the Disneystores. Whenever I visit a city that has a store, I just HAVE to go in there. On my last visit I bought a cute Eeyore Christmas tree ornament! But I'd love to buy a huge stuffed Tigger or Pooh one day!

    1. Thanks, Carla! These posts are fun and challenging; so glad I joined the challenge! Daiso is a Japanese store and I believe there is one in Toronto! Yes, the Disney store is very expensive! I do get some things for my granddaughter from the Disney store online when they have super sales!
