W is for Writing

From the time I could put words on a piece of paper, I wanted to be a writer! Actually in the beginning I wanted to be a poet but poets write, right?! Over the years I have written journals full of thoughts and feelings; took a Creative Writing class; put together a book of poems that I gave as gifts to Mom, Grandma and Mother-in-law; read many Writer's Digest magazines; and now I blog! My Creative Writing instructor said that writers write so if you want to be a writer, write every day! As a blogger I try to write at least five days a week.

The A to Z Blogger's Challenge has been a great exercise in writing even when I don't feel like it...about things I might not be passionate about. I have enjoyed visiting the other blogs--especially the writers. Sometimes I feel totally out of my league because many of the bloggers in the challenge are professional authors with real books with their names on them! Today I read a blog post written by Sandy that was educational for children called Flat Stanley and Friends. If you have children and have read the Flat Stanley books, you will love her blog.

Only a few more days to go in the A to Z Blogger's Challenge and it appears I just might make it to the end. THAT in itself is a huge benefit for me. You see, I am great at starting things with a huge amount of gusto but typically fizzle out before the project is completed! Completing this challenge makes me a WINNER and I just might give myself a gold star when its over:)

Oh my, tomorrow is the letter X! I will have to write about something Xtra special to be sure!

  1. Me too! Now that I've got W under my belt. I'm frantically trying to come up with a reasonable X. Frankly, it will be a relief to be able to free write again!

  4. I like how creative using the alphabet is forcing me to be, especially those strange letters like U and X. Good luck finishing the challenge...we're almost there! :)
