Stamping Club Projects for June

Our Happy Stampers stamping club met on June 22. I don't know how we can have more fun than the month before because every club meeting is fun but this one had to be the most fun yet!  Everyone was at the top of their game--except me.  I thought I had all the projects cut out and ready to go but found I wasn't as prepared as I thought:( The ladies were great about it and looked at their new Stampin' Up! catalogs while waiting for me to get my act together. I think the new Stampin' Up! catalog just makes everybody happy!!!

This month I think I had a Melon Mambo theme going on. For the card on the far left I used Melon Mambo card stock for the base. Then I used the Fabulous Florets stamp set (LOVE IT!) to stamp the flowers in Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight; the leaves were stamped in Wild Wasabi on Whisper White card stock. I stamped the other flower with Melon Mambo Classic ink, then cut it out and popped it up with Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment that comes in the Fabulous Florets stamp set with Pacific Point Classic ink on Whisper White card stock and matted with Melon Mambo. I used Basic Rhinestones in the center of three of the flowers on the background.

The card on the right of the picture above was taken from a design in the Stampin' Up! demonstrator's magazine called Stampin' Success. I used Melon Mambo textured 12 x 12 card stock for the base to make the card 3" x 6" (fits in a regular letter size envelope). I stamped the butterflies from the stamp set Strength & Hope with Pretty in Pink, Curry (retired) and Bashful Blue Classic ink and used a Basic Rhinestone for the head of each butterfly. The sentiment is from the On Your Birthday stamp set and was stamped with Melon Mambo on Whisper White card stock; matted with Melon Mambo card stock.

This month I added a bonus project that I found on Dawn Griffith's website. You use one sheet of 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper--mine is Certainly Celery--to make a six page booklet. Cute! Cute! Cute! I stamped the stem with Wild Wasabi on Whisper White card stock then matted it with Melon Mambo. I stamped the flowers with Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight on Whisper White card stock and cut them out, then popped them up on Dimensionals. The Melon Mambo card stock is attached with Dimensionals only at the top and bottom to allow the ribbon to slide underneath. Each page inside was decorated with either Whisper White card stock or Old Olive (it's what I had).
This would be a great gift for a friend with pictures and journaling or as a Gramma's Brag book. Lots of possibilities and super easy!

I am super excited about the projects for July. We will be using the new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch (in the Summer Mini) and the Big Shot to create a card inspired by a quilt. And I am hoping to master the pop-up card so we can do that one as well! Keep your fingers crossed.

July is going to be a super busy month but will continue to blog when I can. I do have more going on than making cards but making cards IS the most fun:)

Have a great day and a super week! Thanks for stopping by:) Kat

What am I Working on Today?

This is a super busy week for me. My granddaughter's birthday is tomorrow and I am traveling to see her on Friday. Birthday's are such fun!!! I made her two satin pillowcases to see if that will help her hair not to tangle so bad when she sleeps--one pink and one lavender. Then I am sewing doll clothes for her 18" doll but true to form, I have procrastinated so am scurrying to get them done. My Stamping Club meets tonight and I am ready--hooray! Tomorrow night Hubby has a Solar Seminar in West Richland, WA and wants me to attend to evaluate his presentation. Whew! So glad I don't have to go to work too:) See, retirement does have it's advantages.

If I'm not mistaken, today is the one year anniversary of my retirement!!!  I am still not bored and still content to be home.  Summer is here again with lots of good food in the garden, warm weather and motorcycle trips to plan.

Have a great day and a super week!  Kat

Cute Cards continued...

This card is sooo cute in person. My picture taking is not very good; may have to get a new camera (or steal my hubby's nice one he uses for work). The base is Pretty in Pink card stock. Then I layered a retired dsp (can't remember the name) with Melon Mambo card stock. I created the lace effect with the Eyelet Border punch. I ran the Whisper White card stock for the frosting through my Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder before punching with the Cupcake Builder punch. The base of the cupcakes was stamped with Pretty in Pink Classic Ink on Whisper White card stock using the Create a Cupcake stamp set then punched with the Cupcake Builder punch. I used Melon Mambo to punch the flower using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. I put a Basic Rhinestone in the center of each flower. The sentiment is from the Create a Cupcake stamp set. This card is for my granddaughter for her sixth birthday--this week!!! This design came from Georgeann Manning at www.paperprincess1973.blogspot.com. Her blog is called 'Me' Time and she has lots of great card and scrapbooking ideas on her blog.

This card was was really fun to make using the Baby Bundle stamp set. I have used this set several times but never seem to get the look I really want but I was very happy with this one. The base of the card is Pretty in Pink card stock. On Whisper White card stock I stamped the small images with Pretty in Pink, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso Classic Ink. the ribbon is 1/4" Pretty in Pink Grograin Ribbon. The buggy was stamped with Early Espresso Classic Ink on Melon Mambo card stock. I accented the buggy with Basic Rhinestones. I love the Basic Rhinestones and Basic Pearls--they really help to dress up a card!!!

I have two more cards to share but they are the projects for tomorrow night's stamping club. The ladies hate it when I spoil the surprise so will have to wait till Thursday to see what we did!

Have a great day and a super week! If you get a chance today, go to The Breast Cancer Site to click for free mammograms for those women who can't afford them. While you're there, please click for Autism as well. Your click helps to pay for therapy for children with Autism and their familiesl

I'm Baaaccckkk!

Sorry for the lapse in blogging.  I guess it's just like that sometimes.  I follow several blogs and it seems that most of them have a hiatus periodically.

This past few days I have been busy getting ready for our Happy Stampers Stamping Club that meets this Wednesday. In addition to the projects for the stamping club, I needed a Going Away card, a Baby card and a Birthday card so have been busy.  I will show you some of them today and the rest tomorrow. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did making them.

All supplies for the following cards are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise stated.

This card was made using Not Quite Navy, Whisper White and Early Espresso card stock. The ties were cut out of the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper and I used the Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine. This was my husband's Father's Day card.

This card is my Mother's Birthday card and was also one of our stamping club projects last month. I used Bashful Bride, Concord Crush and Very Vanilla card stock. I used the Blossom Petals Builder punch and Build a Blossom stamp set. I also used the Strength and Hope stamp set for the detail behind the blossom and accented it with Basic Pearls. I used Concord Crush and Crushed Curry (retired) classic ink.

This is one of my favorites and was the second project we did for stamping club last month. I made these cards for Father's Day and also for my Brother's Birthday. This one is the Birthday card. I used Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso and Whisper White card stock. The Designer Series Paper was Nautical Expedition that is currently available in the Summer Mini catalog as is The Open Sea stamp set. The "Journey" stamp is from the Define Your Life stamp set that will be retiring the end of this month. I accented with the Early Espresso Baker's Twine and a 5/16" Jumbo Brad in Chocolate Chip.

This card was made while I was just playing around. I was taking care of a friend's two girls for a few days so got out some card stuff for them to play around with. While they were making their cards I started playing with punches.  I used Early Espresso, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry card stock, a retired flower punch, the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch, and the flower center is made with a punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack. I topped each flower off with a Basic Pearl. I plan to add a sentiment but haven't decided what yet.

I will share more cards tomorrow so be sure to check back.  Thanks for checking in. I will be visiting my daughter this weekend but hope to be back on a regular blogging schedule starting Tueday, June 28.

Have a great day and a super week!  Kat
