Butterfly Basics Screen Card

I am totally in love with the Butterfly Basics stamp set by Stampin' Up! along with the Butterfly Thinlits! I am having a problem right now because I want to use the Butterfly Basics for every card! I was inspired in the making of this card by Connie Stewart at Simply Simple Stamping. She used a different stamp set but I got great ideas from her for this card. If you haven't checked out Connie's Flash Cards and Flash Cards 2.0, you are missing a lot! Plus Connie has a 2 Minute Tip each Tuesday that is helpful...like how to fold your card stock! Can you tell I'm a fan?!!!

This card is part of a three card Swap and I will show the other two cards over the next couple of days! All three cards were supposed to use the same stamp set which, of course, was not hard for me!

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! supplies:

• Paper: Whisper White and Island Indigo cardstock; Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper
• Butterfly Basics stamp set
• Ink: Soft Suede, Island Indigo, Old Olive and Early Espresso; colored with Blendabilities (discontinued)
• Big Shot with Butterfly Thinlits
• Decorative Label Punch 
• Other: Glue Dots and Basic Pearls

Happy Stampers January Projects

Another Flash Card from Connie Stewart

At our Happy Stamper's Club meeting last Wednesday night we made another Flash Card from Connie Stewart's Simply Simple Stamping blog. For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! products:

• Card stock: Whisper White, Real Red and Pink Pirouette
• Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad
• You Are Loved stamp set
• Punches: Full Heart and Small Heart
• Big Shot with Adorning Accents Folder
• Other: Dimensionals and Basic Rhinestone

Our final project for our stamping club was a fun card from Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie using the Blossom Builder Punch in a new and fun way!

Valentine Kisses

The "kisses" were made by slipping a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper into the Blossom Builder Punch and punching part of the largest petal. France has a video that will show you exactly how to make this card. Her videos are fun as well as instructional.

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! products:

• Cherry Cobbler and Basic Black card stock; Silver Glimmer Paper; Vellum
• Sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes
• Big Shot with Adorning Accents Embossing Folder

5 Things Friday

Welcome once again to 5 Things Friday initiated each week by Carla at My 1/2 Dozen Daily. These are just five random things that I want to share with you so let's see, what can I share this week???

First off I will share the card with you that I promised. This was one of our Happy Stampers projects this week and is also one of Connie Stewart's Flash Cards over at Simply Simple Stamping! Okay, now for number two...Remember the Stampin' Trimmer I bought a few weeks ago and LOVE, by the way? Oh, you forgot already? Well, it's this one...

I sold four of them on this stamping order!!! It is seriously the best paper trimmer I have ever used! Just like slicing through butter...nice and smooth! Lots of nice features!

Now for number three...

I have a lot of cleaning and a lot of cooking to do before next Thursday, Thanksgiving! I guess what I will be most thankful for on Thanksgiving is that all the work is OVER! It would be nice to go someone else's house for the holiday for a change but Hubby loves to have people over. It wouldn't be so bad but with my health issues I haven't had ANY extra energy for at least three months! This too shall pass...

Number four...

I stumbled across a blog post yesterday where the author was writing about how she gets up in the morning, goes to her closet and picks out the shoes she is going to wear for the day, then picks out clothes to go with. I...do...the...same...thing!!! How funny is that?!! If I try to get dressed and then pick the shoes I never can get it right! My husband laughs because I might not be able to remember what somebody looks like but I will be able to tell you what shoes they were wearing:) Can you just see me as the witness to a crime??? 

Number five...

I bought six fat quarters of the BFF Girl Friends fabric by Elizabeth Studios that I have been lusting over!!! I was only able to get the piece pictured and some flowered in both brown and sepia but wasn't able to get the dots I wanted. That's okay, I am one happy camper with these! I also got the cutest pattern to make a kimono for an 18" doll. My granddaughter is 1/4 Japanese so she will love these little kimonos for her 18" dolls, Sophie and Chloe:) Right after Thanksgiving the sewing machine is coming out and staying out till Christmas. I have sooo many things I want to make! Stay tuned for pictures of finished projects:)

Carla threw in a # 6 this week asking about the type of shoes/boots we wear for winter. Well, my favorites are a pair of Docker Mules I have had forever and love because I can wear socks or tights with them and they look pretty good with most anything. I am really going to have to find another pair like them before next winter!

When it is too cold for these, I have a pair of Kirkland Signature (Costco) boots that are Ugg look alikes! They are super comfortable and I don't have to wear socks with them but they still keep my feet nice and toasty.

When I'm wearing dresses I wear my Keen Bern Baby Bern boots--two years old and still lovin' them:)

Well, that's my 5 Things for this Friday!

I have family pretty much taken care of but have a few gifts I want to make for a few super special people:) And, no I will not be shopping on Black Friday.

Holly Berries Flash Card

I thought I had already posted this card but couldn't find it. Sooo, if I already did, sorry! If you're like me, you forgot anyway!!! This card was another one of Connie Stewart's Flash Cards! I am seriously addicted to these cards! They are so fun and easy to make and the possibilities are endless! Check out Connie's Flash Cards at Simply Simple Stamping. It seems I got some funky shadows in the picture but you get the idea.

Vintage Ornament Keepsakes Flash Card

I sure didn't notice that funky light when I took this picture but you get the idea. Hope it's not too distracting:( We made this card last night at our Happy Stampers meeting and everybody loved it! How could you NOT love a card this pretty. I have Connie Stewart at Simply Simple Stamping to thank for this card! If you haven't heard of or tried the Flash Cards, you will want to watch her first Flash Card Video Tutorial. The tutorial for the card above is at Vintage Christmas--the second in Connie's video tutorials on Flash Cards.

Flash Card

I know, I am a little late today but have been busy getting ready for the Happy Stampers Club (tomorrow night--yay!!!) and brewing the tea to feed my Kombucha Mushroom (more on that another time) and trying to clean up some around here.

I am over-the-top excited about Connie Stewart's Flash Cards (this link is for the basic Flash Card video tutorial). The concept is that you have your base card plus two pieces of card stock--the dark piece is cut at 4 1/4" x 2 3/4" and the light one is cut at 4" x 2 1/2". Connie will show you how to cut your card stock and how to get the most out of each piece! We will be making another one of her designs tomorrow night at our club meeting but for today we will concentrate on the one above. I wanted to stamp inside my card so I stepped out of the Flash Card box just a little by adding a piece of Very Vanilla card stock to the inside of my card.

Connie used the Ornament Punch for her card but since I don't have the Ornament Punch yet, I had to improvise:)

For this card I used the following Stampin' Up! products:

• Card stock: Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla
• Stamp sets: Ornament Keepsakes and Christmas Lodge
• Always Artichoke Classic Stampin' Pad
• Big Shot with Holiday Ornaments Framelits and Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder
• 2 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch
• Dimensionals; Basic Rhinestone; Always Artichoke Seam Binding
