Happy Homemaker Monday

I try to get in on Happy Homemaker Monday on Monday MORNING but I just didn't make it today...again! But at least it's still Monday:) I did manage to walk on the treadmill for 50 minutes again today and made a batch of Whole Wheat Cinnamon Rolls so I could get photos for a post later this week.

Happy Homemaker Monday is hosted each week by Sandra at Diary of a Stay at Home Mom. You might want to pop over to see what she's up to.

So, let's get started with Happy Homemaker Monday!

As I look outside my window:::
It's dark now but today we warmed up into the 40s! The little bit of snow we had melted:) We managed to have freezing rain this morning, wind, rain and beautiful sunshine today! Does that mean it's nearly spring???

Right now I am:::
Listening to the TV (recaps of last night's Oscars) while blogging.

Thinking and pondering:::
Oh my! I have been stressing big-time lately about my trip the end of the month to visit family. I don't have a very positive relationship with my mother, sister or brother but thought I needed to visit since it has been a few years. My daughter, granddaughter and I decided to make this trip together:) I finally got the motel booked--super stressful since DD and DGD had wants that I wanted to be able to meet and still stay on budget. WIN!!! I got a motel that will meet our needs and wants very well for $61 per night including tax--Woo Hoo!!! I still have a few things to stress about but the big ones are taken care of.

On my bedside table:::
I am reading Sanctuary by David and Beverly Lewis. I have several books on the Kindle App on my iPad in case I need them. I love having books on my iPad for when I travel so I don't have to take books with me.

On my TV tonight:::
Not sure. So sad that Downton Abbey is over till next January:( Fortunately PBS has some other great programs for us in the meantime.

Listening to:::
The TV and our precious Rocky snoring! His snoring is adorable:)

On the menu for this week:::

Monday--Quinoa Burger Tacos
Tuesday--Vegetable Soup
Wednesday--Baked Potatoes, Broccoli, Cashew "Cheese" Sauce
Thursday--Mizidra (rice and lentils tostada-style)
Friday--Potato Corn Chowder
Saturday--
Sunday--

On my to do list:::

  • Laundry
  • Deliver Stampin' Up! orders
  • Mending
  • Clean off my desk
  • March Challenge: Take 3 post
Happening this week:::
I am hoping this is a week without much happening.

What I am sewing, crocheting, knitting or creating:::
I have a whole list of things I should be working on but I haven't been working on anything lately:( I don't like the way I was joining my Granny Squares so I decided to take them apart and start over. I also have a Pineapple Edged Afghan to finish. There are some road trips coming up so should be able to get something done.

My simple pleasure:::
Wrapping my granddaughter in my arms and just snuggling together! I look forward to the end of the month when I can do this for a few days:) She will soon be too big to appreciate the time with Gramma.

Lesson learned this past week:::
Things really do turn out when you give them over to God and let Him take care of the situation.

Looking around the house:::
Fresh Cinnamon Rolls on the kitchen counter; books stacked beside my chair; dog toys strewn across the living room floor; laundry piled on bedroom floor ready to get washed tomorrow.

From the camera:::

My super yummy Whole Wheat Cinnamon Rolls

Prayer List:::
  • Trip the end of the month with daughter and granddaughter
  • My sister who had hip surgery on February 12; complications and ended up in hospital for 9 days. She is home recovering so are praying for no more complications
  • Son having some health issues--may have to go gluten-free with him again
Bible verse/Devotional:::

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:13

Well, that's it for tonight!

Kat

  1. Much on the go indeed at your show. Does suck when you have to wait almost a year for a show to come back on.

    1. It's always a frustration to have to wait but Downton Abbey is worth the wait!

  2. Hope you have a great trip. I don't have a good relationship with my mother so it's always stressful when I see her or talk to her, it's like inevitable that we WILL fight about something. *sigh*

    Have a great week Kat :)

    1. Thanks, Sandra! We don't leave till Mach 30 so still lots of time to stress. Fortunately I won't be staying with my mom so if she starts getting mean I can just leave.

  3. Well, spring seems a long, long way off here, with snow falling again today.

    Staying elsewhere during your trip would be wisest, with family dynamics like that. I'm not on speaking terms anymore with my two sisters... for my own emotional well being, it has to be that way.

    1. Sorry for all your snow:( Makes for beautiful photos.

      Why did I think I was the only one with family issues??? I would be better off if I just stopped all contact. This visit is a step in that direction.
